You hate our parking lot. I hate our parking lot. Our parking lot stinks! It is the worst parking lot in the history of strip mall parking lots.
Too few spaces?
Too tightly packed together?
Too many potholes
A mountain of snow taking up precious spaces?
Construction blocking street parking?
-check, check, and check!
If there were an award for worst parking lot, I'm sure ours would be at least the first runner up.
So, as a business that cares about our customers, what can we do about it? Not much. We have called the City of Falls Church to do something about the street parking. They have relayed our unhappiness (to use a mild, child friendly word) to the construction company and have sent parking enforcement agents to ticket on Tinner Hill and Maple streets. Bless their hearts, they called to see if it has made a difference - um, who knows?? The blizzard hit and now we have mountains where there used to be spaces.
We have approached the auto parts store to inquire about leasing parking spaces from it for our customers. I was firmly but politely escorted out of the store. They DO NOT want us parking there, even if we pay them.
Our customers can park down the street in the garage of the building that houses Pizzeria Orso. That's fine on sunny days, but it's horrible when one has to carry a baby and hold onto a toddler and navigate puddles while walking to MoBu in the wind and rain.
If I could change one thing about MoBu, it would be the parking. If I could change two things, it would be the parking at the bathrooms - but I'll talk about that in another post.
